Concepts and the technical validation of innovations and new vehicle functions are all notions which briefly describe our team’s work during the software pre-development stage. We are a young team which enjoys playing and inventing creative solutions. Image processing, deep data and machine learning are areas which we deal with every day. Our main objective is to support the Volkswagen Group in evaluating its new assistance system concepts.
Our main area of expertise concerns parking maneuver software development. The management at Volkswagen then decides whether or not to incorporate the assistance system into development for serial production.
Our assistance systems are based on computer vision, machine learning and other methods. Laser scanners, radars, multifunctional cameras or mono cameras are the data sources.

Software development for mass production according to Automotive SPICE
After the successful pre-development stage, the software may be transferred according to the serial-production quality requirements for the specific vehicle platform. Our team focuses on creating the know-how which is fundamental for any such development.
Our skills in this area especially include knowledge of the automotive environment and the Automotive SPICE methodology. The knowledge of the technical development aspects, the control unit architecture, the design architecture for the software solution and the integration with the other components into the control unit are just as important.

Functionally oriented development
The Volkswagen Group uses so-called modular development, thanks to which it is possible to use identical electronic systems in various models. Digiteq Automotive is responsible for the modules and individual functions of the assistance and comfort systems. We provide development activities ranging from the concept design through to the release for serial production:
- The design for networking the control unit to the vehicle´s electronic platform
- Communicating with development partners (internal: the brands and companies within the group, external: tier 1 suppliers)
- Ordering functional tests and their evaluation
- Preparing data sets for the correct adjustment of the control unit

Antenna development and design
Every vehicle has both a receptor and a sender antenna in order to ensure the correct functioning of all the wireless communication systems. Our team at Digiteq Automotive develops them so that they are more robust and they work properly under all conditions.
We design the structure and functions of these systems, while taking into consideration the vehicle´s immediate surroundings. We use the options provided by a virtual environment and simulations to this end. We also fine-tune the designs with the tier 1 suppliers with regard to serial production.

Application and validation
One of the most important steps during the development of a new vehicle involves configuring the electronic system correctly with regard to the given model or model variant and subsequently testing all its available functions, including whether or not it complies with the market criteria and the legal requirements for series production.
At Digiteq Automotive, we implement prototype electronics directly into the new models and then we test them. We are also able to change or adapt their functions according to the customer´s requirements. The installation, commissioning and testing is carried out on secret test tracks in the Czech Republic and abroad and we use a number of diagnostic and measurement tools for this purpose.
